DAYWISE ITINERARY
ARRIVAL-LEH
Day 1
Pick up from Leh Airport and transfer to hotel. Complete rest for acclimatization is must for rest of the day to avoid high altitude sickness. You will feel the elevation as it is a big jump from sea-level to 3500 meters, and it will take your body a few days to adjust to this altitude. It is very important to drink plenty of water, and to not over-exert yourself while wandering around Leh. Even walking up the stairs of the hotel will make you breathless for the first day or two. Overnight stay at Leh.
LEH - INDUS VALLEY MONASTERIES
Day 2
After breakfast, full-day excursion to various Monasteries/Gompas in and around Leh. Visit Shey Monastery (13 Kms) and from there, drive to Thiksey Monastery (19 Kms). After that, drive further to visit Hemis Monastery (40 km from Leh) which is one of the best known, wealthiest, and biggest Gompa of Ladakh. Back to Leh in the evening. En route, visit 3-Idiots school, Stok Palace & Museum, and Sindhu Ghat. Overnight stay at Leh.
LEH - LOCAL SIGHTSEEING - KHARDUNGLA PASS
Day 3
After breakfast, drive to Khardung La Pass (40 Kms) which is famous for being the highest motorable road in the world and is also the gateway to Nubra valley. Have a magnificent view of the surrounding valleys. In the afternoon, back to Leh and visit Shanti Stupa & Leh Palace. Visit Leh market in the evening. Overnight stay at Leh.
LEH - SHAM VALLEY TOUR
Day 4
After breakfast, visit Hall of Fame & proceed for Sham Valley which will give you a traditional aroma of Ladakhi villages. Drive to Alchi village (70 Kms) famous for Alchi Monastry which is dating from thousand years back. En route visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and Magnetic Hill which defy the law of gravity. When a vehicle is parked in neutral gear on the road of this hill, it starts sliding up. See the confluence of Zanskar and Indus river on the way. In the evening, visit Likir & Spituk Monasteries and drive back to Leh. Overnight stay at Leh.
LEH - DEPARTURE
Day 5
After breakfast, check out from the hotel & drop at Leh Airport for your onward journey with sweet memories of the tour.
