This tour covers most of the sightseeing across Ladakh. With two Nights in Nubra. Guests travel to Turtuk in this package.
DAYWISE ITINERARY
ARRIVAL-LEH
Day 1
Pick up from Leh Airport and transfer to hotel. Complete rest for acclimatization is must for rest of the day to avoid high altitude sickness. You will feel the elevation as it is a big jump from sea-level to 3500 meters, and it will take your body a few days to adjust to this altitude. It is very important to drink plenty of water, and to not over-exert yourself while wandering around Leh. Even walking up the stairs of the hotel will make you breathless for the first day or two. Overnight stay at Leh.
LEH - INDUS VALLEY MONASTERIES
Day 2
After breakfast, full day excursion to various Monasteries/Gompas in and around Leh. Visit Shey Monastery (13 Kms) and from there, drive to Thiksey Monastery (19 Kms). After that, drive further to visit Hemis Monastery (40 Kms from Leh) which is one of the best known, wealthiest and biggest Gompa of Ladakh. Back to Leh in the evening. En route, visit 3-Idiots school, Stok Palace & Museum and Sindhu Ghat. Overnight stay at Leh.
LEH - NUBRA VALLEY
Day 3
After breakfast, proceed for Nubra valley via Khardung La, which is one of the highest motorable roads in the world. En-route visit the Diskit Monastery. In the evening visit the famous Nubra valley desert, enjoy the ride on the famous double hump bacteria camel. Spend the night at the desert camp. Overnight in Nubra.
NUBRA VALLEY - TURTUK
Day 4
After breakfast, proceed to visit Turtuk. Turtuk is one of the northernmost villages of India, second only to Murgo Village, the northernmost village of India. After visiting Turtuk return to Nubra. Overnight stay in Nubra.
NUBRA VALLEY - PANGONG LAKE
Day 5
After breakfast, proceed for Pangong lake, via Shyok. A mosaic of myriad shades of blue, the pristine Pangong Lake is perched at a height of 14,270 ft above sea level and is said to be one of the highest brackish water lakes in the world. Lying almost on the Indo-Chinese border, a part of it falls in India, while the other is in China. The beauty of the lake is such that it has been a cinematic backdrop for the popular movie, 3 Idiots. Overnight stay at the camp near the lake.
PANGONG LAKE - LEH
Day 6
After breakfast, we start our journey to Leh from Pangong Lake. On the way you will cross Changla Pass, which is the second-highest motorable road in the world. The evening is free for leisure and for last moment shopping in Leh market. Overnight stay in Leh.
LEH - DEPARTURE
This is the last day of the tour. After breakfast proceed for the onward journey.
